The chaotic life of a small town girl .... : Disneyland 2013, Part One

This year I got to go to Disneyland with my 2nd family. It was all of the boys’ first time going to Disneyland. I met my best friend/sister Kaylei and her mom Kimberlei in 1998 when we started Girl Scout Troop 1230. Kaylei and I were two of the four original girls in the troop. Her mom became our co-leader with my mom in our second year. In 2007, Kimberlei got pregnant with my little brother, Xander and about a year later, Wyatt joined the family.

We decided that we were gonna ride the train down to Disneyland instead of flying down on an airplane or driving down there. The train ride was 34 hours long, both ways. We left Tacoma, Washington at 10am on February 24th. Kaylei and I decided to work on our homework so we wouldn't have to worry about doing homework while we were at Disneyland. And we also watched movies too! The boys were really good on the way down there. At about 10 pm the next day, we arrived at the LAX Union Station and changed trains to go to Anaheim. By the time we got to the hotel, we put our things down and passed out!

The next morning we got up at around 8 am because the boys were so excited to go and see Mickey Mouse. Instead of taking the shuttle bus, we decided to walk down to the park. We got to Disneyland right before the gates opened. Once we got a stroller and got inside the park, we went to our first ride, Peter Pan :) We rode a lot of rides that day. Xander rode the Matterhorn for the first time, he was so brave. When we got off the ride, he hit his eye on the exit gate and got a black eye, he was so excited to show it off lol. After that we went over to Frontierland, which was when Kaylei and I got our ticket holder and our first of many pins. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean ride twice that day. Xander loved it, but Wyatt wouldn’t even make it in the front door. After that we went over to the Haunted Mansion, this time Wyatt overcame his fear and rode the ride. I told him I would get him a present for overcoming his fear. Afterwards we went to Splash Mountain. Luckily we were all able to fit into one boat so we didn’t have to have any random people in our picture. It is one of my favorite rides except for the drop towards the end of the ride. We were also in the area that had Winnie the Pooh Bear’s ride at, I was sooo excited (I love Winnie the Pooh Bear, it’s a tradition that every time I go to a Disney Park I get a least one Pooh Bear item!) After that we decided to head back up to Main Street where we were able to watch Mickey’s Soundsational Parade but due to a technical error we weren’t able to watch the whole thing. After the parade was over, we decided that we did enough for our first day and that we should head back to the hotel. Kaylei and I made a trip to Walmart to buy some snacks and a stroller so we wouldn’t have to rent one every day.

Day two was spent over at California Adventure. The first thing we did was rent a locker so we could put our sweaters we brought for when the sun went down and it got cooler. After that we got a picture with Pluto and got coffee at the Starbucks. The first ride we went on was the Ferris wheel. The boys were so excited to go on it. The only bad thing was that we picked the side that moved the whole entire time so it freaked them out a lot. The boys rode the swings and the Goofy little rollercoaster. While we were waiting for Kenny and Xander to go on a ride (Wyatt was too short to ride it) I bought Wyatt a bubble gun as his reward for riding and overcoming his fear of the dark the day before. The next ride we went on was Soarin’ over California.
